Green-Wood Cemetery, Dirty Dancing, King Pizza Records...you could say The World's Greatest Detective knows how to do Brooklyn. They've been a band hardly six months, but you know the brainchild of Alex Heigl has a pretty strong sense of self when they have a song called "Fedoracore." With a name that rivals Sherlock Holmes, they might not exactly be able to find the person who stole your credit card info, but that doesn't mean they can't play a mean show. They'll be closing out the show, so be sure to stay late and party with The World's Greatest Detective.
If your live performance could be compared to a scene from a movie, what would it be?
I've always imagined it something like a cross between the final scene of Dirty Dancing and the car chase from The French Connection.
Favorite other Brooklyn/NYC band?
Favorite place in New York?
Green-Wood Cemetery or Grand Central.
I usually listen to "Let the Beat Build" by Lil' Wayne four to five times in a row and then hit it. That seems to be working out all right so far.
